Devin was holding onto Carter's pants which was a good thing since Carter's sheep bolted out of the gate.

Still Waiting

So we can't wait to see Baby Brooke. But of course she is going to be stubborn like her brother and we will probably not have her until the end of July. What do you do......they have a mind of their own that's for sure. Carter wonders everyday when he will see her. We will keep you posted when she finally makes her appearance.

Finally

So I think Devin and I finally decided on a name for this little bundle. We are going to call her Brooke..... well unless she comes out and looks entirely un-Brooke-ish. Even Carter has started calling her baby Brooke instead of Green or Blue. We are really making progress at our house.

Devin and I made a list of the girl names the we both like for the bundle in my belly. We each made a list then vetoed the ones we least liked until we came up with 10 names. then we each ranked the names 1-10 and Devin averaged the rankings to come up with our top ten and here they are first to 10th. Brooke, Lindsie, Sadie, Alex, Janey, Natalie, Kaelyn, Whitney, Hayden, and Jade. I am sure the list will change before the end of Julybut this is where we are at the moment.

Funny Stories

Carter has discovered those little 25 cent machines at the stores. He is always asking Devin and me for a quarter whenever he spots one. The other night Carter came running into our room around 2 in the morning like he does every morning. He always runs in halfway through the night and spends the rest of the night sleeping on our floor. Anyway he had come in and fallen back asleep when he started just crying in his sleep. He started staying no momma, no thats my quarter. He was just screaming. Apparently I was trying to take a quarter away from him and he was doing everything he could do to keep it. I didn't think that I have been a mean enough mom to warrant a nightmare for him but I guess I will have to try extra hard to be nice from now on.

It's a Girl!!

Well its official Devin and I are expecting a little girl in July. We had our ultrasound yesterday and confirmed what Devin already suspected. Don't feel too upset if you didn't even know we were pregnant because not many people did. We tried to get Carter to tell us what we were having for weeks but he didn't give away any hints. If we asked him if its a girl or boy he would say boy and if we asked if it was a boy or girl he would say girl. He just said whatever we said last. Then we got an idea and asked Carter what kind of baby we were having and he said GREEN. He was no help at all. We are thrilled.....now we have to come up with a name which I'm afraid is NEVER an easy task for us. I will get a little picture of the ultrasound up as soon as I can.

Carter makes us laugh

So last night Carter was being a little stinker. He wouldn't do anything we asked him too. We were trying to get him to eat his dinner and of course he was to busy playing around to worry about dinner so Devin made it a game. He would tell Carter if he doesn't come and take a bite he was going to eat it. Carter thought it was so much fun to race Devin and of course Carter always won. Anyway the rest of the night was a race to beat daddy. The best is when Devin said he had to go to the bathroom and Carter jumped up and ran in the bathroom. Carter tried to take off his pants and sit on the toilet before Devin could get there but he was laughing at himself so hard that he gave up and just sat on the toilet with his pants on. It was so funny. Granted Carter didn't do too much to hinder Devin since we have two bathrooms but it was funny all the same. Of course Carter thought he was just so sneaky. The best part of this story is that when I was growing up we only had one bathroom and every time my sister would tell me she had to go I would race her to the bathroom and sit on the toilet so she would have to wait. So Carter is a little like me after all.

Christmas Time 2008

We spent the first couple days of the Holidays in Scipio. Carter was so much fun this year. Good thing Uncle Paul is so easy going, he let Carter "Ride the Bull" quite a few times. Of course riding the Bull is one of his favorite things to do. He always has to have his Cowboy hat on before he takes a ride.

Little baby Seely Anne was born a couple of days before Christmas. Carter just thinks she is fantastic. He loved holding her. Carter calls her Baby Seedy.... He will get it.

One of his favorite presents this year was of course a new Cowboy hat (the old one was trashed). In fact he had his old one on that morning and when he saw the new one he threw off the old and put on the new and never gave his old hat another glance. Also of course he got a stick horse. Just another thing to ride at our house.

The holidays wouldn't have been complete without a trip to see Santa on Christmas Eve. Uncle Paul got Carter right in line. Carter asked for a Cowboy hat and a new tracker.

Carter's 2nd Birthday

We had a house full of people to help us celebrate Carter's 2nd birthday. Paul, April, Scott, Eryn, Jake, Natalie, Brian, Kallie and of course Carter's best little friend Easton. Carter was so excited for cake he could hardly stand the wait. My cake decorating skills however are not the greatest.

It didn't take Carter long to dive in and get cake everywhere in the process. At least he had a great time I guess.

Carter's favorite gift he got for his birthday was this Cow Bowling. In fact he saw it on my bed before I could wrap it up and made such a fuss that I ended up giving it to him with a little bow on it just so he would stop crying. He still hasn't got the rolling the ball at the pins, he always throws it instead.

Halloween 2008

It was so much fun to get Carter dressed up this year for Halloween. He was Dopey and he had a fabulous time. We only ended up going to a few houses to Trick-or-Treat because every time he would get a new treat he wanted to go home and eat it. He also was invited to a little costume birthday party for a little friend of his the day after Halloween. Carter however didn't want to get back into his Dopey costume. He wanted to wear his normal cowboy attire so we just drew on a little facial hair and he was in costume once more.
So it's been quite some time since I posted anything new. Every time I sit in front of the computer Carter decides that its then that he needs my full attention. So I am way behind as usual. I noticed that I didn't even put Halloween pictures up. You will have to forgive me as I attempt to catch everyone up on what has been going on in the Monroe house.
